It’s been 38 years since a total eclipse was visible from the continental United States – and even then it was visible only in the U.S. Northwest & Canada. It has been a whopping 99 years since the last total eclipse crossed the continental U.S. from coast to coast.

Join Outdoors 123 on the roof of Monona Terrace to watch the eclipse. The eclipse will be at 85 percent which means that the nearly all of the sun will be covered by the shadow of the moon as it passes. We can expect the sky to dim and the temperature to cool a bit. Shadows are also supposed to look different so we’ll look for that too. The eclipse starts at 11:50, maxes at 1:15 pm and concludes at 2:37 pm.

ISO certified viewing glasses will be available for purchase for $5 each (first come, first serve.) next to the cafe. We will also have pin hole viewers that you can use. Bring a chair if you like. We will meet on the rooftop at Monona Terrace and find a spot near a tree. Look for Diane in her orange hat.
