The members of the College Football Playoff selection committee put the undefeated Badgers at No. 5 in their latest poll released last night after the Badgers’ impressive 38-14 win over then-No. 20 Iowa this past Saturday.

The Badgers, now 10-0 for the first time in school history, moved up three spots to No. 5 after three teams ranked in the top six lost on Saturday including No. 1 Georgia, No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 6 TCU.

The Badgers will host No. 24 Michigan on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Camp Randall Stadium and will travel to Minnesota next week. In the Big Ten Championship game Dec. 2. they will likely face Ohio State, although Penn State and Michigan State are still alive in the title chase and a championship match-up with Michigan is still mathematically possible, but not likely.

Football pundits believe that is unlikely the Badgers would be left out of the four-team College Football Playoff if they finish the season 13-0.
