Professor Christina Sharpe

BLACK. STILL. LIFE. with Christina Sharpe, Professor of English at Tufts University will take place Thursday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m. at Room L140 Conrad A. Elvehjem Building, 800 University Ave.

Christina Sharpe is Professor of English at Tufts University and the author of Monstrous Intimacies: Making Post-Slavery Subject and In the Wake: On Blackness and Being. Her research interests are in black visual culture, black diaspora studies, and feminist epistemologies, with a particular emphasis on black female subjectivity and black women artists.

Sharpe will be in conversation with artist Cauleen Smith on Wednesday, October 18 and will also facilitate a workshop with UW Professor of English Cherene Sherrard-Johnson on Thursday, October 19.
