Milwaukee’s Marcus Theaters will launch its first CineLatino Milwaukee Film Festival next month to celebrate the growing Hispanic population in southeastern Wisconsin, according to CEO Rolando Rodriguez.

The four-day festival will run from Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30 at Marcus South Shore Cinema in Oak Creek.

The festival will kick off with a VIP event premiering the film How to Be a Latin Lover starring Salma Hayek and Eugenio Derbez. The kick-off will also feature food from El Rey and beverages courtesy of MillerCoors, a festival sponsor. The event is open to the public for $50 per person, with 50 percent of proceeds going to the Aurora Cancer Care Spanish Speaking Clinic.

The remainder of the festival will feature more than 10 films including dramas, documentaries and romantic comedies. Talk backs will be held for select films and food and beverage will be available throughout the festival.

The final day of the festival, April 30, is also Dia de los Niños (Day of the Child) and will feature a Spanish language version of the animated film Sing as well free family activities.

Four-ticket packages and 10-film packages are available for $24 and $60, respectively. Tickets can be purchased and the complete festival schedule can be found at https://www.marcustheatres.com/marcus-specials/marcus-film-series/marcus-cinelatino-festival.
