Facing resistance from their own party, Senate Republicans have delayed the vote to repeal and replace ObamaCare until after lawmakers return from the July 4 recess, CNN reported today.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who had been pushing to get a vote on the health care plan before Congress left for the recess, told members that he wants to make changes to the bill and get a new analysis from the Congressional Budget Office.

Since the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said the bill would leave 22 million more Americans without insurance, several Republicans senators had said they would not even support allowing the bill to be brought to the Senate floor for a vote.

A White House official and a GOP aide on the Hill told CNN that White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and Vice President Mike Pence invited all Republican senators to White House on Tuesday afternoon.
