On a recent episode of “Jeopardy!” on Jan. 15, the clue was, “Deb Haaland of the Laguna Pueblo & Sharice Davids of the Ho-Chunk Nation are the first women of this group in Congress.”
The clue was revealed under the category title ‘U.S. Representatives’ and presented in the Double Jeopardy! Round. Contestant Laura Thomason, an English professor from Lizella, Georgia, responded, “What is Indigenous women?”
Longtime game show host Alex Trebek replied, “Yeah. We’ll accept that, I believe.”
The correct answer was Native American.

Representatives Haaland and Davids made history in 2018 when they became the first two Native American women elected to the United States Congress. Both took to Twitter that evening.
