The Michigan Wolverines run of dominance in the NCAA Tournament continued with a 69-57 win over Loyola Chicago, ending one of the most dramatic cinderella runs in tournament history. The Wolverines used a big run at the start of the second half to erase a near double-digit deficit and take the lead. From there, the Wolverines stifling defense held and the Ramblers had no answers. With Michigan leading comfortably in the final minutes, Ramblers’ patron saint Sister Jean was seen being sadly wheeled out of the arena.
Michigan will face Villanova in the NCAA Championship game Monday night. Villanova crushed Kansas 95-79 in a rout that was not as close as the score. It is the second time in three years that Villanova will play in the championship game.
