The Just Bakery Unity Dinner will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 6-8 p.m. at Blackhawk Church, 9620 Brader Way, Middleton.

Come join Madison-area Urban Ministry (MUM) for a night of food and conversation. Just Bakery students and local law enforcement will prepare and serve dinner. As an interfaith agency, MUM brings people together to have a conversation. What better way to do that than breaking bread.

Just Bakery is a 16-week educational and vocational training program. The program works with individuals who are experiencing significant barriers to employment: homelessness, criminal conviction history, lack of education, and/or a lack of work history and skills. MUM offers individuals an opportunity in baking or culinary arts as a career pathway.

The dinner was suggested by MUM students and staff as an effort to bring some healing to a very broken community, to share a meal, and to make a small connection. Students want to be part of the process of healing our community and this is how they would like to start.
