Racist Grafitti Targets Monona Businesses

0

At least two buildings were vandalized with racist graffiti overnight in Monona.

Melissa Wadsworth told Madison365 that someone painted the words “F— N—–s in Paris” on the back door of her shop, Up-Cycled Creations by Melissa at 4507 Monona Drive. The assailants also apparently broke a table and stole some candles that she had stored outside.

Another nearby building had a Jewish symbol and a Swastika painted on it.

“It’s definitely a hate crime,” Wadsworth said. “It’s ridiculous. I hope they’re caught.”

Wadsworth said she believed at least one of the businesses targeted has surveillance cameras.

Monona police confirmed that officers had responded to a report of property damage.

A few similar incidents cropped up in the Madison suburbs shortly after the election of Donald Trump.
