Richard Sherman

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman’s career with the Seattle Seahawks has come to a close after 7 years with the team.

“Thank you for helping win championships, shape our culture and define success in Seattle,” the Seahawks said in a statement. “We love you and your unwavering competitiveness, confidence and fierce passion for football and life. For that, you will always be a Hawk!”

Sherman is regarded as one of the best players at his position in the NFL. He was the staple of some of the most dominant defenses in NFL history and helped the Seahawks appear in back-to-back Super Bowls in 2013 and 2014.

Now, at age 29 and coming off achilles surgery, Sherman is looking to play elsewhere. A three-time All-Pro player, Sherman’s value may be slightly diminished following his torn achilles, but a team like the Green Bay Packers who are thin at that position could become a possible destination.
