Tracey Robertson, a longtime leader in the Oshkosh community, will join Madison365 as its first Fox Valley contributor, the nonprofit news outlet announced today. Robertson will act as a reporter and correspondent, helping bring the issues and events of the Fox Valley’s communities of color to a statewide audience.

“Tracey is the real deal,” said Madison365 Publisher and CEO Henry Sanders. “She’s completely committed to the community and has her finger on the pulse of what’s going on, and she’s a gifted writer. There are a lot of stories in the Fox Valley’s communities of color that aren’t being told, and Tracey is the right person to start telling them.”

Robertson is cofounder and executive director of Fit Oshkosh, Inc., a grassroots, nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the Racial Literacy of the residents in Winnebago County, Wisconsin and beyond through training, education, advocacy, and research.

She is also a blogger on diversity issues and wrote a diversity column for The Oshkosh Scene from 2011-2013. Her expert opinion has been featured on television shows including “Eye on Oshkosh” and PBS’ Here and Now. She also developed, produces and hosts a local radio show entitled Real Gospel Radio on 101.9 FM, WOCT, in Oshkosh

“There are so many people doing so many wonderful things here in the Fox Valley, and I can’t wait to shine a light on them,” Robertson said. “I also look forward to examining some of the difficulties facing people of color and starting conversations about working toward greater equity. Madison365 has made such a huge impact in Madison and around the state already, and I’m grateful for the chance to do more of their kind of community journalism here in Oshkosh, Appleton, Green Bay and everywhere in between.”

Robertson’s reporting will be published on Madison365.org and the Madison365 Facebook page.
