Wisconsin Flu Season Could Be a Bad One

Eight people in Wisconsin have been hospitalized for flu this month, an early start to the season and potential sign of a highly active season.

There’s also a possibility the flu season will peak early and then taper off.

Health officials are recommending getting a flu shot as soon as they become available.

The flu mist is not being offered this year. There are choices of what shot to receive, however, including a version that contains three to four strains of the virus.

In Australia, over 100,000 people have been diagnosed with the flu, making this season the most active in five decades.

Public Health Madison Dane County offers free flu shots for those who qualify.
