Madison police are calling a shooting Wednesday night on the city’s east side an attempted homicide.
Officers were called at 11:30 p.m. to the Rethke Avenue near Worthington Park.
Police say officers who arrived on scene found a 36-year-old woman with multiple gun shot wounds.
Witnesses told police several shots were fired and someone yelled “I’m shot.”
The woman was taken to UW Hospital. The condition of that woman is unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
