Boys & Girls Clubs in Wisconsin is looking for a Statewide Executive Director who will work with Club Directors and CEOs in 56 cities in Wisconsin. The position will serve local Clubs throughout the State of Wisconsin and will report to an executive committee of Club CEOs throughout the State.

Job Summary: The State Alliance Executive Director is responsible for working with volunteers and senior leadership of local Clubs to achieve the annual revenue goals for the statewide alliance by maintaining and expanding relationships with government departments and leaders. The State Alliance Executive reports to the Executive Committee, receives oversight from the Alliance Board and works with local Club personnel to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, secure, and steward statewide funding (with a particular emphasis on government funding); assists in development and implementation of plans for state grants and other identified revenue; and supports coordinated lobbying efforts.
Statewide Director: The position will be recruited by and report to the Executive Committee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of WI. The Statewide Director’s primary work location is flexible, with the understanding that interaction with legislators in Madison will be a role requirement.
Employment Status: The Statewide Director will function as an Independent Contractor or could serve as a full time position. The BGC of Greater Milwaukee will function as fiscal agent and the Dane County Club will manage the operating budget.
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience
Experience: Minimum of three years of experience working in government relations, preferably with extensive experience soliciting gifts from government sources. Experience in private fundraising for non-profit, political or related sector.
Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of the Boys & Girls Clubs and our youth development strategy is helpful with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Planning: The candidate will need to have excellent planning and problem-solving skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. The candidate will need to use social media tools and be able to motivate staff and volunteers effectively and be self

Responsibilities: Identify, develop and implement new sources of state funding in cooperation with the Alliance Board, the Executive Committee, the Government Relations Committee and BGCA. Work with state officials, legislators, coalition partners, the lobbyist team, local Club leadership and volunteers to support funding and policy efforts. Conduct legislative events and grassroots outreach activities. Create materials and proposals to support campaign, events and activities. Communicate state funding and legislative strategies to constituents and coalition partners, and ensure their effective participation.
Management: Interface with lead agencies to ensure the effective operation and delivery of programs within the State Alliance. Provide oversight of state-funded programs in support of the State Alliance. Also, new leader will work with local Club staff of areas of deficiency and will maintain the day-to-day business processes to include financial reporting, dues collection and reporting, distribution of funds, invoice generation, creation of check requests and by-law requirements
Board Relations: Ensure active participation by Alliance board members and support effective board roles and functions. Position will manage and support the identification, recruitment, on-boarding and evaluation of Alliance board members and will provide support and appropriate input to the Alliance Board of Directors.
