    Community Action Coalition for South Central WI, Inc (CAC), a private, non-profit agency dedicated to developing economic and social capacities of individuals, families, and communities to reduce poverty in Dane, Jefferson, and Waukesha Counties, is accepting application forms for positions in Dane County entitled:

     

    Caseworker

     

    Position is responsible to provide case management services to individuals and families including but not limited to those who are veterans, those with disabilities, enrolled in Section 8, or are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Caseworkers provide supportive services such as intake, needs assessments, information and referral, advocacy, mediation, and assist participants to develop and maintain goals to move out of poverty. Caseworkers are required to be mobile for travel to the participants’ homes for the provision of individual needs assessments and linkages to needed community services and supports. Position may also include time at the Dane County Job Center to complete Coordinated Entry activities.

     

    Required: Minimum one year of experience with direct service programs for people affected by poverty, homeless persons, or families in crisis. Commitment to full participation of people who are marginalized in the life of the community, and knowledge of the exclusion, injustice, and oppression faced by people who are marginalized. Experience and/or training with techniques, principles, and/or best practices used in case management. Possess a valid driver’s license and an insured motor vehicle. Demonstrated dependability, self-motivation, initiative, and an ability to work with a minimum of supervision and as a team; be detail-oriented, manage multiple priorities, and prioritize tasks. Thorough knowledge of services for the homeless and at-risk-of-homelessness, including experiences providing crisis intervention services to individuals and families. Effective written and oral communication skills. Experience with IBM compatible computers.

     

    Position is based in Madison and includes a benefits package including holidays, leave time, insurance plans, and an SEP retirement plan. CAC offers a casual, diverse, smoke-, latex-, and fragrance-free environment.
