Milwaukee Black-owned restaurants in the spotlight next week

0

The second annual Milwaukee Black Restaurant week will take place April 17 through April 23.

The week, coordinated by BlankSpaceMKE, provides discounts at different Black-owned restaurants on different days of the week. Last year’s week hosted 11 different deals at 11 different venues.

“BlankSpaceMKE believes that consumer support of black-owned businesses not only reinforces a sense of community, but also creates new opportunities for future entrepreneurs,” according to the event’s Facebook page. “MKE Black Restaurant Week reinforces that message and builds on the momentum of existing related programs including Recycle the Black Dollar and All Black Everything.”

This year’s restaurants includes over 15 different Black-owned restaurants all over the city. Sponsors for the week include NPHC MKE and the Wisconsin African American Media Association.
