Karen Nelson began her career as a chemist. In her first job as a chemist, she created a Black hair care product – but her ideas and product were not supported. She was told that her product creation did not reflect America. Heartbroken, she left the research field and eventually found herself doing equity, diversity and inclusion work. In this episode, we discuss Karen’s career journey, finding her circles of support, and the role that her faith plays in her activism.
