Blacks for Political and Social Action, Inc., (BPSADC), Wisconsin’s only Black-led political action committee, has announced its candidate endorsements for the spring elections that will take place on Tuesday, April 4.

BPSADC said in a statement that the organization is charged with the responsibility of advancing diversity, inclusion, equity and justice in sectors that adversely impact Black citizens. “We facilitate the identification of issues and concerns of Black citizens and raise these matters with political candidates that affect our community,” PPSADC said.  “As such, we endorse candidates whose views and positions are in alignment with our PAC.”

The following candidates have been endorsed by the BPSADC for Tuesday’s election:

District 2 – Alder Julianna Bennett
District 9 – Nikki Conklin
District 10 – Alder Sheri Carter
District 12 – Amani Latimer Burris
District 14 – Isadore Knox, Jr.
District 16 – Alder Jael Currie
District 18 – Alder Charles Myadze
District 20 – Alder Barbara McKinney

“It’s a joy to be able to endorse a slate of candidates who are Black women and community leaders,” Rev. David Hart, president of BPSA, told Madison365. “With so much at stake in this election, BPSA is proud to endorse candidates with a proven track record and desire to govern toward a more just world for Black communities in Dane County.”
