Forward Madison FC has signed forward Ryan Carmichael for the 2026 season, pending league and federation approval.
Carmichael, a native of Madden, Northern Ireland, joins the club after playing professionally and collegiately in the United States and abroad. He began his career with Portadown FC in Northern Ireland’s second division, making 39 appearances and scoring six goals from 2018 to 2020. He later played collegiately at Hofstra University, where he appeared in 75 matches and recorded 46 goals and 18 assists. During his college career, he also competed with Georgia Revolution in the NPSL and the Long Island Rough Riders in USL League Two, helping the Rough Riders reach the 2022 playoffs.
In December 2023, Carmichael was selected 24th overall in the first round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft by Inter Miami. He spent the 2024 season with Inter Miami II, appearing in 25 matches and recording nine goals and seven assists. In 2025, he played for Atlanta United FC II in MLS Next Pro, making 28 appearances with one goal and four assists.
Forward Madison FC Head Coach and Technical Director Matt Glaeser said Carmichael brings versatility and technical ability to the attacking group, while Sporting Director Matt Cairns said the club expects him to fit well within the team’s playing style.
Carmichael said he is looking forward to joining Forward Madison and playing at Breese Stevens Field during the 2026 season.
