Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was a big winner Wednesday night winning “Best Male Athlete” at the ESPY Awards presented by ESPN and ABC.
U.S. soccer player Alex Morgan won for “Best Female Athlete” and the U.S. Women’s National Team for “Best Team.”
The ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award) Awards recognize individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance during the calendar year preceding a given annual ceremony.
Antetokounmpo, the MVP of the NBA this year, also won “Best NBA Player” at the awards ceremony

“As a kid, I never thought that I was going to win an ESPY,” Antetokounmpo said during his acceptance speech. “So this is all about hard work and the way that you believe in dreams … things like this could happen.”
At his acceptance speech, Antetokounmpo also thanked God, his family and his teammates.
