The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) will be hosting a press conference at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon to announce the district’s plans in response to coronavirus.
The board will hold a special meeting at 2:30 p.m. and is scheduled to take action afterward. MMSD Superintendent Jane Belmore and district administrators will be providing an “important update” on MMSD plans around Coronavirus.
Seven states — Ohio, Maryland, Oregon, New Mexico, Michigan, West Virginia and Virginia — and a growing number of large urban school districts are shutting down all K-12 schools as part of a sweeping attempt to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
