Pang Khang named principal of CH Bird Elementary in Sun Prairie

    Pang Khang will be the next principal of CH Bird Elementary School, according to a press release from Sun Prairie Schools. Khang would become the first Hmong principal in Sun Prairie Area School District history.

    Khang currently serves as Dean of Students at Sun Prairie East High School. She earned a bachelor of science degree in curriculum and instruction and a bachelor of arts degree in languages and cultures of Asia, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Khang earned a master of science degree in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University.

    Prior to her current position as Dean of Students at East, Khang had experiences as a Positive Behavior Interventions Supports Systems Coach and Advanced Learning Specialist, and as a first-grade teacher.

    CH Bird serves over 350 students and their families in kindergarten through fifth grade at its school on Sun Prairie’s north side.

    Khang, pending Sun Prairie School Board approval, will begin in her new role on Thursday, July 1.
