Patrick Miles re-elected to a second term as Dane County Board chair

Patrick Miles (District 34) was re-elected to a second straight term as chair of the 37-member Dane County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday night.

Miles was selected over April Kigeya (District 15) and Rick Rose (District 16). Supervisor Sarah Smith (District 24) was elected as First Vice Chair and Supervisor Chad Kemp (District 32) was selected as Second Vice Chair.

Miles, who lives in McFarland, has been a member of the County Board since 2006 and has chaired the board since 2022.

At last night’s meeting, 36 County Board Supervisors were sworn in, including 10 new Supervisors, according to a press release from Dane County, including Henry Fries (District 5), Tommy Rylander (District 12), Dan Blazewicz (District 17), Jeffrey Kroning (District 21), David Boetcher (District 25), Lisa Jackson (District 26), Don Postler (District 29), Randy Udell (District 33), David Peterson (District 36), and Kerry Marren (District 37).

Over the next few weeks Board Chair Miles will make appointments to the standing committees of the County Board along with additional committee appointments. The next regularly scheduled County Board meeting will take place on May 9, 7 p.m.
