MADISON, Wis. – Heavy rain has lead to several road closures in the downtown Madison area.

First Street and Johnson intersection will most likely be closed for the morning rush, according to the City’s website. Crews will eventually work on traffic control on the First and Johnson intersection once water resides.

City crews are monitoring inbound Packers Avenue onto Aberg Avenue to East Washington, which may prompt closure, however remains open right now, according to the city’s website.

Below is a list of current closures:

Closed: Dayton Street from 6th-1st
Third Street/Johnson Street intersection
Johnson from Fordem to 6th Street

Water levels on John Nolen Drive subsided from Monona Terrace to Machinery Row. However, John Nolen only has one lane open in each direction. The inbound lanes at East Washington at Burr Jones Park remain open, however, the right two lanes closed
