University of Wisconsin athletes will make up one-third of the Team USA roster for the 2025 Women’s Hockey Rivalry Series against Team Canada.

Wisconsin women’s hockey stars Lacey Eden, Laila Edwards, Caroline Harvey, Ava McNaughton and Kirsten Simms will join UW legends Hillary Knight, Britta Curl-Salemme, Jesse Compher, Casey O’Brien and Anna Wilgren will all skate for the states.

The series against Canada begins with a game on Nov. 6 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, while the second game on Nov. 8 will be at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y.

There will also be two games in Edmonton in December.

Nine current or former Badgers were on Team USA’s gold winning team at the 2025 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s world championships, and current Badger Caroline Harvey was on the United States Olympic team at the Beijing games in 2022, winning a silver medal.

The Badgers, currently the top-ranked team in the nation, are off to an 8-0 start and boast the stingiest defensive team in the country, having shut opponents out entirely in five of their eight wins. Opponents are 0-for-25 on power play opportunities against the Badgers this season.

Over the weekend, the Badgers won the Ice Breaker Tournament shutting out Union 4-0 to win the in-season trophy. Lacey Eden, Cassie Hall and Harvey were named to the all-tournament team while McNaughton earned goalkeeper of the tournament.

The Badgers begin a series against Minnesota State at LaBahn Arena on Oct. 25 and 26.
