Middle blocker Carter Booth of the Wisconsin volleyball team has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the second time Booth has earned the accolade.

The 6’7″ junior helped the Badgers to victories over No. 11 Oregon and Michigan this week. In eight total sets, Booth averaged 1.88 blocks per set, including a career night of 12 total blocks Sunday at Michigan. With 12 blocks in a single match, Booth ranks fourth this season in the NCAA for the most blocks by an individual in a four-set match.

Offensively, Booth also chipped in with 1.50 kills per set, and 2.63 points per set.

The Badgers will travel to Indiana to play the Hoosiers on Thursday at 6 p.m. CST before playing at No. 10 Purdue at 2:30 p.m. CST on Saturday in a match that will be nationally televised on NBC.
