The Madison365 Academy spent another week teaching young people the craft of journalism, this week working on news stories on issues important to the community.

- Damitu Hamda looked into the local response to the so-called “Blue Lives Matter” bill proposed last week.
- Jared Biddle reports that the 15-point plan to reduce violence in Madison seems likely to be approved.
- Ivanna Sanchez spoke to some young journalists of color about the lack of diversity in the newsroom.
- Teeaisa Hoye spoke with two PEOPLE Program scholars just returned from First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Beating the Odds” Summit.
- Chelsey Erstad looked into the dangers of the ultra-popular game Pokemon Go and the precautions local players are taking.
