Wisconsin has 1,986 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection, according to state and county data.
Dane County reports 246 cases and Milwaukee County reports 1,023. A total of 40 people have died, 24 in Milwaukee County.
The state Department of Health Services reported 1,916 cases at 2 pm Friday, and Milwaukee County updated its count at about 2:30, bringing the total to 1,986.
About 25 percent of people testing positive have required hospitalization. Currently there have been 487 people hospitalized.
