Wisconsin confirms more than 2,000 coronavirus cases for third straight day

For the third consecutive day, Wisconsin has confirmed more than 2,000 new coronavirus cases, with 2,283 new cases confirmed in nearly 12,500 tests.

Wisconsin’s positive test rate remained high at 18.3 percent Saturday. Those results bring the total case count to 99,562 of which just under 13,700 are considered active, about 1,000.

Today is the 15th day of the past 16 that the positive test rate has been over 10 percent.

Wisconsin’s positive test rate for the past seven days is now 16.22 percent, and the 14-day rate is up to 15.28 percent. Today’s data brings the seven-day average of new cases to 1,708 and the 14-day average to 1,413.

Three new fatalities were reported today — one each in Fond du Lac, Juneau and Portage Counties, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,241.

Wisconsin has averaged 4.57 deaths per day over the past week and 5.62 per day over the past two weeks.

The highest local new case count came in Milwaukee County, with 250 new cases and 31.85 percent positive tests.

Dunn County: 32 new cases, 32.99 percent positive tests
Eau Claire County: 51 new cases, 58.62 percent positive tests
Fond du Lac County: 51 new cases, 20.4 percent positive tests
Forest County: 12 new cases, 44.44 percent positive tests
Grant County: 79 new cases, 34.65 percent positive tests
Green County: 34 new cases, 20.36 percent positive tests
Green Lake County: 17 new cases, 35.42 percent positive tests
Jefferson County: 26 new cases, 18.84 percent positive tests

The number hospitalized with COVID-19 on Saturday rose to 362, 20 more than Friday and 43 more than a week ago. Of those, 105 were in ICUs, seven more than Friday.
