Fauzia Qureshi has started her role as executive director of the Wisconsin Muslim Civic Alliance, an organization founded in 2019 to empower the Muslim community and its allies in civics, democracy and related issues.
The Wisconsin Muslim Civic Alliance (WMCA), which organizes voters and engages with elected officials to advance Muslim rights at the local, state, and federal levels, made the announcement via press release on Thursday.
“We are thrilled to welcome Fauzia Qureshi to the Wisconsin Muslim Civic Alliance family,” said Maqsood Khan, president of the board of directors, in a statement. “With her impressive background and passion for civic engagement, she is the ideal leader to guide our organization forward. We are confident that she will inspire positive change and empower Muslim communities across Wisconsin.”
WMCA’s programs include civic educational events, voter turnout initiatives, and candidate training. As the executive director, Qureshi will spearhead the Wisconsin Muslim Civic Alliance’s efforts to promote civic participation, foster community collaboration, and advocate for positive social change across the state.

Fauzia Qureshi brings 15 years of experience in leadership roles, demonstrating a strong dedication to advancing social justice, equity, and community empowerment, according to a press release from the Wisconsin Muslim Civic Alliance, and has a proven track record of spearheading impactful initiatives such as successfully planning, developing, and implementing grant programs that served many underserved and minority populations, managing budgets, and supervising staff.
