Yanette Figueroa Cole wins race to represent Near West on Madison council

Yanette Figueroa Cole has defeated Mara Eisch to succeed outgoing Alder Zachary Henak in representing Madison’s Near West Side on the Common Council.

Running on a platform focused on health and wellness, Figueroa Cole garnered just over 55 percent of the vote. She tallied 2,030 votes to Eisch’s 1,435.
