Madison alder Carmella Glenn will run for re-election in District 18, her campaign announced on Thursday, pledging to continue her fight for housing justice and transparent, community-centered local government.
“When federal and state systems fail, local government becomes everything,” Glenn said in a press release. “I am running to ensure every person in our community has access to safe, affordable housing and a voice in our government.”
In April, Glenn defeated Kevin A. Monroe, 74-26 percent, for the open seat that was previously held by Ald. Charles Myadze. She is now running for re-election to serve her first full two-year term. District 18 represents Madison’s North Side.
