The Catholic Multicultural Center, one of many community centers that contribute to making Madison a better place for all members of the community, will host its sixth annual Radiothon fundraiser tomorrow.
CMC provides people with basic needs such as food and hygiene items for those that aren’t able to provide for themselves. The also have job training program to help people obtain more advanced skills and get the education they need to enter the job field. The multicultural center also focuses on providing immigration services to those seeking visas. Especially after the DACA program was ended, they provided their services to many that were affected by the discontinuation of DACA, they provided “know your rights” workshops that educated communities member of their legal rights. The CMC also provides many services to low income families. Their service fees are charged based on an individual’s income, they also charge about 40% of what private attorneys charge for related services.
“We never turn people away because of their inability to pay. We always make sure people get the support they need,” said Laura Green, Volunteer Coordinator.
The purpose of tomorrow’s fundraiser is to raise money to fund their programs. The Multicultural Center is aiming at a goal of raising $12,000 at this years Radiothon.
The Radio-Thon will take place at the Catholic Multicultural center location location at 1862 Beld Street, Madison, WI, 53713 from noon to 6pm in the evening. Food and refreshments will be provided, along with many fun activities for all ages. The event will also be broadcast on La Movida radio at 1480 AM and 94.5 FM.
