Celebrating 15 Years of Freedom, Inc. will take place Tuesday, Nov. 12, 4-5:30 p.m. at the UW Memorial Union, 800 Langdon St.
Please join the Asian American Studies Program for a special conversation with Kabzuag Vaj, Founder and Co-Executive Director, Freedom, Inc.
Growing up in Dane County, Vaj noticed that there were no support services for HMoob girls and women who were survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. So, she started one from her garage.
15 years later, Freedom, Inc. is among the most reputable and transgressive non-profit organizations serving low- to no-income communities of color in Dane County. Freedom, Inc. sets a model for the nation for coalition-based activism campaigning for Gender Justice, Queer Justice, and Black and Southeast Asian Liberation.
