Cori “Coco” Gauff became the youngest woman to win the junior title at Roland Garros since 1994 with a 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (1) victory over Caty McNally June 9.

The 14-year-old is the fifth-youngest to win the title in the history of the French Open. She is also the youngest ever finalist in the girls’ singles event at the US Open. Gauff started playing tennis at age 6. She grew up in Atlanta, but moved to Florida to have better opportunities to train in tennis.

The young tennis star posted about her victory to her Instagram account writing, “It has been an incredible experience here in Paris winning my first junior grand slam. Thank you God for allowing me to have such an unforgettable week. Thanks to everyone who supported me during this tournament. I can’t wait to be back for many more years to come❤️ #rgchampion”
