Derek Chauvin, the Minneapolis police officer who knelt on the neck of George Floyd for nearly eight minutes, likely causing Floyd’s death, has been arrested, mutliple media outlets report.

Chauvin and three other officers were fired Tuesday after video of the incident spread on social media. Police were called for an alleged forgery in progress, and no video shows Floyd resisting arrest.
The killing has sparked outrage nationwide and massive protests in Minneapolis.
No charges have been announced, local media reported.
