Dane County grows by 79 new cases with 85 percent of all cases recovered

Dane County confirmed 79 new coronavirus cases Wednesday, bringing the County’s total to 4,743. As of this morning, the total number of recovered was listed as 4,030.

Dane County’s death toll from COVID-19 remained at 38 this morning while total hospitalizations grew to 310, up from yesterday’s 306. Currently, there are 27 total people hospitalized with 11 in in the ICU in Dane County hospitals.

Today’s highest concentration of cases are among adults in their 20s, who are 40 percent of all new cases with 35. Those in their 50s also grew by double digits with 12 new cases while nine new cases added in their 30s. Teens 10-19 and those in their 40s both grew by seven while children aged 0-9 grew by four. Adults in their 60s and 70s grew by two additional cases while adults in their 80s grew by one.

The most updated data on positive test percentage for a day is for August 13, with the positive test percentage reported as 1.7 percent while August 12 is now at 1.5 percent. The positive percentage for August 11 has been updated to 2.2 percent and August 10 at 1.6 percent. Madison365 expects that these numbers will adjust as more negative and positive tests are fully processed and attributed to the appropriate dates in the coming days.
