MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has confirmed the first case of coronavirus in Wisconsin.
The patient is a Wisconsin resident who recently visited China, but DHS staff did not specify where in China the patient had visited.
Test results for coronavirus came back positive on Wednesday. The patient was tested for the virus at UW Hospital in Madison.
DHS staff said the patient is “doing well” and is no longer in the hospital. However, the patient is currently in isolation at undisclosed location.
DHS staff said there are more potential cases in Wisconsin and are waiting for tests results in those cases. Ten people have been tested in Wisconsin, seven of those tests came back negative.
More details surrounding the confirmed case are expected later Wednesday.
