The annual Disability Pride Festival will take place at Warner Park on Saturday, July 26, noon-5 p.m., with a day full of celebration and entertainment. This free, family-friendly event honors the diversity, resilience, and joy of the disability community.

The festival will kick off at noon with an inclusive parade led by the Forward Marching Band. The event will also feature aerial wheelchair dancing by Wheels and Heels, showcasing the artistry and talent of the disability community.

There will be live music and dance performances throughout the day from Vets on Frets,
Ballet Folkloric de Maria Garcia, and Nola Talks to Trees. The festival will conclude with an exciting drag performance featuring Madame Lacy, Elliot Wage Gap, Tea Thief, and SunShine Raynebow. All performances will have ASL Interpretation.

“Join us to celebrate the strength, creativity, and diversity of the disability community. Whether you’re here for the parade, the performances, or simply to explore the exhibits, this event is a powerful reminder of the beauty of inclusion,” the Disability Pride Festival said in a press release.

There will be over 80 exhibitors showcasing products, services, and resources supporting the disability community. For young people, there will be face painting, carnival games and organizations like Madison Children’s Museum and MSCR’s Clay on the Move.

The organizers of Disability Pride Festival are asking all attendees, exhibitors, and volunteers who can wear a mask to do so to ensure the safety of those who cannot. Mask-free zones will be available for people to take breaks, eat, and recharge.
