“Disrupting Systemic Racism in Education” will take place Thursday, July 2, 2-4 p.m. and will be hosted by MMSD

As we begin to look toward the next school year, educators, school administrators and district leaders must come together to help disrupt the educational inequities that students are facing.

Our panel of four MMSD educators will discuss their experiences with navigating microagressions and racial bias in classroom discipline. We will also explore what it means to teach culturally responsive curriculum that will inspire the next generation. This live session will be led by Angela Fitzgerald Ward, Director of MMSD Family Youth Community Engagement – FYCE and MMSD educators, Camara Stovall; Frank Allis Elementary School, Dareon Henderson; Huegel Elementary School and Jessica Fleischmann; James C. Wright Middle School

We encourage you to ask your questions in the comment section during the presentation and our teachers will respond to you in real-time.

This session is part of our ongoing ‘Coping during COVID-19’ series. You can see previous sessions on our ‘Being Well’ page at bit.ly/3cU0i4W.
