Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin to open new store on Madison’s West Side June 5

Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin will celebrate the grand opening of its newest retail store and donation center on Madison’s West Side on Thursday, June 5, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 8:45 a.m.

This new location marks an important milestone in Goodwill’s ongoing efforts to expand its mission programs and more broadly serve the greater community, Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin said in a press release, and the new store was developed to increase access to affordable goods, make donating more accessible, and create more opportunities for employment and job training in the region.

“Choosing the West Towne area was an easy decision for us,” said Matt Weiss, director of operations at Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin, in a press release announcing the grand opening. “It’s a vibrant and densely populated part of Madison, making it ideal for both shoppers and donors. We believe this store will become a self-sustaining hub for reuse and workforce opportunity.”

The June 5 grand opening event highlights will include remarks from Michele Harris, president & CEO of Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin, on the organization’s mission and the store’s impact on local workforce development and a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the new store with area dignitaries. There will be special grand opening giveaways throughout the weekend.
