Jacob Blake has been hospitalized the past few days while recovering from being shot seven times in the back by a Kenosha police officer and despite being paralyzed from the waist down, Blake’s father told the Chicago Sun-Times that his son is handcuffed to his hospital bed.
When Jacob Blake’s father visited his son in the hospital on Wednesday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, he said the 29-year-old father of three was handcuffed to the bed.
“I hate it that he was laying in that bed with the handcuff onto the bed,” his father, also named Jacob Blake, told the Sun-Times. “He can’t go anywhere. Why do you have him cuffed to the bed?”
Officials have not announced any charges against Blake.
The officers involved in Blake’s shooting have been placed on administrative leave and the incident is being turned over to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation.
