LaFollette Wins Nomination to Keep Secretary of State’s Office

Secretary of State Douglas LaFollette, who has served in the office for 40 years, withstood what he called the “nuisance” of a primary challenge, defeating Madison alder Arvina Martin with 65 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s Democratic primary.

He will face Winnebago County Republican Jay Schroeder, who easily won the Republican primary over Spencer Zimmerman.
