Evers Wins Dem Nomination for Governor; Mitchell Second

    State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Evers has won the Democratic nomination for governor and will face incumbent Scott Walker in the November election, according to projections from multiple news outlets.

    With just over 43 percent of the votes counted, Evers had 41 percent of the vote to firefighter Mahlon Mitchell’s 22 percent. Former state rep Kelda Roys was third with 13 percent of the vote.
