Allow extra time if you are traveling by bus today as Madison Metro will be in service today, but may have up to 30-minute delays at the start of the day, the City of Madison said Tuesday. Drivers will maintain schedules as icy road conditions allow.

Madison Metro said in a press release to avoid boarding at stops on steep hills such as Observatory Dr., Hamilton/Old Sauk, and School Rd. and to track your bus at mymetrobus.com or using a tracking app. Due to the closure of MMSD schools, supplemental school routes will not be running.

The City of Madison Streets Division will also not be collecting trash and recycling today due to icy conditions on roads as well as the slippery conditions on driveways and sidewalks. Instead of collecting trash and recycling, the Streets Division will be reassigning staff to assist with the ongoing effort to apply sand for traction on residential streets.
