All Madison Metro Transit buses are now limited to 15 passengers plus the driver.
City leaders are asking passengers to limit their bus use to essential trips such as travel to employment, medical appointments, and grocery stores.
Madison Metro is asking community members to use alternative forms of transportation if they are available to you, exit the bus through the rear doors, and to try and maintain a distance of 6 feet from the driver and your fellow passengers.
According to the press release, it is important for riders who are at a high risk of illness to avoid the buses if at all possible. High-risk individuals include people 60 years or older, people with pre-existing conditions like heart disease, lung disease or diabetes, people with weakened immune systems, and women who are pregnant.
