Madison Police Department Wants to Know What You Think

As part of an assessment of Madison Police Department policies and practices, the department has opened an online survey to find out what you think.

The 22-question survey asks whether the police department does an effective job keeping your neighborhood safe, treats everyone fairly and uses force appropriately.

The survey comes from recommendations of the MPD Ad Hoc Review Committee, “a body of volunteers and residents appointed by the City to address issues of concern regarding police-community relations,” according to the City’s website.

The survey is part of a review process to be conducted throughout 2017 by OIR group. The review was approved by the Common Council last year, over the strenuous objection of Madison Police Chief Mike Koval and police advocates.
