Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway will be speaking at Urban League of Greater Madison on Thursday evening as part of a graduation ceremony featuring three signature Urban League programs.
Rhodes-Conway will join Urban League CEO Ruben Anthony, representatives from MMSD, Exact Sciences and past program graduates during the ceremony that will take place from 5:30-7:00 PM at Urban League on 2222 S. Park Street.
Over 30 people will be graduating from three programs including Foundations for the Trades, which is a seven week career academy that provides participants with over 100 hours of hands-on construction skills training on real constructions sites. Foundation for the Trades is run through a partnership between Urban League and Operation Fresh Start.
Foundations Central will also have graduates. Foundations Central is a partnership between Urban League and MMSD, which serves students with special education needs who have dropped out or stopped attending school.
Also graduating will be participants from the five-week-long Exact Sciences Academy, which prepares job-seekers for careers in Exact Sciences.
