Wisconsin now has 3,629 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and 171 people have died as a result of infection, according to state and county data. That is an increase of 169 cases since Monday and 16 more deaths.
Milwaukee County has 1,865 confirmed cases and 101 people have died. In Dane County, 348 have tested positive and 13 have died.
So far, 1,049 people — about 30 percent — have been hospitalized. Currently, 432 people with coronavirus infection are in the hospital — 161 of them in intensive care units and 361 receiving breathing assistance from mechanical ventilators. An additional 277 people are hospitalized with respiratory symptoms and awaiting test results.
