The state of Wisconsin reported just over 2,800 new coronavirus tests on Monday, of which 307 were positive. The seven-day average of new cases per day jumped to 591.

The seven-day positive rate, which would be less subject day to day fluctuations in testing, rose to 3.4 percent.

The state reported one new death on Monday, increasing the total death toll to 6,640.

The seven-day average of daily deaths remained steady at five.

Since March 2020, an additional 159 people have tested positive for COVID but died of other causes.

The state also reported Monday that just over 1.17 million Wisconsin residents have completed the COVID-19 vaccination series, more than 50,000 since Friday. More than 108,000 doses were reported over the weekend. In all, nearly 3.1 million vaccine doses have been administered to more than 1.92 million people.

The estimated number of active cases — diagnosed in the past 30 days — rose to just over 7,100, about 1.23 percent of the 580,129 total cases confirmed in Wisconsin.
